Training & Employment Department NVQ 2 Childcare, Learning & Development Course Summary: The NVQ 2 Childrens Care, Learning and Development is an OFSTED recognised award. This qualification is appropriate for practioners taking and working in a supervisory role within the workplace. How will I be Assessed? Assessment takes place in the workplace on performance. Other forms of assessments may be in the classroom and at planned meeting times. Entry Requirements: - Sufficient levels of literacy and numeracy to enable student to complete award. - Being in attendance at a work placement on either paid employment or voluntary basis - You are responsible for making arrangements with the placement and completeing your CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) form before you enrol with us. How much time will I spend on the course? 60 guided learning hours plus 10 hours assessment. How is the course delivered? 2 Hours per week during term time. Who is this course suitable for? This course is suitable for people working in a children's setting as an assistant, or people starting out in caring for and working with children. What are mandatory modules or units? You will study 6 mandatory units and 1 optional unit? The mandatory units are: - Contribute to positive relationships - Help to keep children safe - Support children's development - Use support to develop own practice - Prepare the environment - Support children's play and learning Cost: Certain benefits waiver course costs. There are possible options to apply for funding to cover course costs.
