All of our Derby settings are subject to Ofsted reports and early years’ providers will normally have their settings inspected at least once every six years. In our most recent inspections, we have been marked as ‘Good’, the second highest rating an Ofsted nursery report can give.

In all of the Ofsted nursery reports provided for our Derby settings, inspectors have been thoroughly impressed by the quality of our highly-trained staff and their teaching, and in the progress and behaviour of all of the children in our care. You can view the reports in full on the Ofsted website, but we have summarized some of the key points from each report below:

St Marks Rd
Grade: Good 16/08/2018
“Parents spoken to on the day of the inspection praised the high standards of care and learning provided by staff.”
“The quality of teaching is consistently strong. Staff know how to nurture a positive attitude towards learning and children are very engaged as they play and explore.”
“Children play confidently in a stimulating, well organised, interesting environment that helps support all areas of learning.”

St James Centre
Grade: Good 07/12/2016
“Staff know children well and recognise the uniqueness of each child.”
“Staff use their experience and qualifications well to develop effective ways to support children who are learning English as an additional language.”
“Staff are enthusiastic in their interaction with children. They demonstrate that they enjoy spending time playing with, and teaching, the children.”

Brackensdale
Grade: Good 18/06/2019
“Staff welcome children into the nursery and take an interest in how they are. They are kind and attentive to the children’s needs and support their emotional development well.”
“Children’s behaviour is good, they play together harmoniously and are polite and kind to others.”
“Children make good progress from their starting points. They are well prepared for the next stage in their learning and development, including the move on to school.”

Breadsall Hill Top
This setting opened September 2018 and has not yet been inspected.
